The doggies went back home last night, which was both sad and a great relief. They were super fun to have around most of the time, and they are incredibly cute. We'd just stop in the middle of a sentence to mention it. Too cute to be allowed, we decided. But three little dogs are more than a handful. While they were around, I loved them to bits, but I was also glad that they were visitors instead of permanent residents. My observation to Sharif was this: "Whenever we have kids, let's not go from zero children straight to three toddlers."
Aside from doggies, it was also a busily social weekend. Friday night ilyAIMY and other Perk people had a show in Baltimore, so we got to have friends and beer and music. That doesn't happen enough lately. Then Saturday, with family in town, I joined a group outing to the Flying Dog Brewery in Frederick. We had lunch at Cracker Barrel, then went off for the tour and tasting. $5 gets you a pint glass to keep, six tokens for 6oz(+) beer samples of your choice, and the tour. It was good fun. And my mom won a 12-pack to take home with her.
That evening, Sharif and I wrangled the dogs into the car and took them to my parents' house for dinner and socializing. 11 people and three little excited dogs. Fun, but exhausting. So Sunday we stayed home all day. I cuddled with the pups and stayed in my pajamas until dinner time. (I put on real clothes only to fetch our dinner and bring it back home.) We played video games and watched the episode of Battlestar that we'd missed on Friday. I stayed up late watching 4 episodes of Doctor Who. (This was accidental. I meant to watch 2 episodes, but unknowingly started a three-part arc. Oh, the dangers of "to be continued...")
And now we're back to the work week. This whole week is basically just going to be a countdown to next weekend, when we drive up to Rhode Island to fetch our bird. Exciting!
