Wow, what a ridiculously social long weekend. Thanksgiving on Thursday featured 12 people at my parents' house, Rock Band, a Wii bowling tournament, 4-Michael Wii tennis. Oh, and lots and lots (and lots and lots) of food. It was a really fantastic day. In fact, I think it may have been one of the best Thanksgivings ever.
Friday we went to Sharif's parents' house, which was rather more low key, but still featured lots of food. We didn't manage to avoid the mall entirely, as had been my hope, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. The coat that Sharif really really wanted was 40% off at Banana Republic, so we went over, found a parking space surprisingly quickly, then rushed in and out efficiently. And the coat does look particularly good on him. That night, upon returning home, we helped Lacey with the Christmas decorating. Then we all had giant cranberry/champagne/vodka cocktails. (Yes, plural.) So THAT was fun!
Then SATURDAY we went to zombie night, and we met the awesome doggie and ate $100 worth of chinese food and watched three movies in a room full of friends. We also walked home after Midnight after watching 3 zombie movies, which I thought was particularly impressive of us. (We managed to get home with brains fully intact!)
On Sunday, Lacey and I went into Hampden for Christmas shopping (and brunch at Rocket to Venus. With a mimosa, of course). The shops were not crowded at all, since it was wet and cold out, so we did pretty well. I want to buy everything in Ma Petite Shoe. We finished off the trek with Dangerously Delicious Pies and hot tea. Perfect!
This week shall be my only full week at work until January 5th. So great.
