I recently discovered that I had a saved draft of an email from last December in my gmail account. Upon opening it, I found that it consisted only of an address on Edmondson Ave in Catonsville. A quick Google search did not reveal to me what is at that address. Mysterious! And I've deleted it now, so I guess I will never solve that particular mystery.
It was a good weekend. After a delicious home-cooked brunch of bacon, grits, cheesy eggs, and coffee, Sharif and I went to LL Bean on Saturday. After negotiating the cacie-infested walkway (Hi Cacie! I don't think you're an infestation, really!), we went inside and proceeded to construct and then dismantle a couple of tents. Very quickly, I might add. We think we've figured out which one we'll eventually buy, so that will come in handy when we finally get ourselves organized enough to plan a camping trip.
Not much happened for me while Sharif was at work that evening, but that night! He downloaded for me a demo copy of the Spore Creature Creator! This is basically a tiny sample of the game, but we have already had much fun with it. So exciting!
Yesterday was social day. Rohini and Will's official Indian engagement party was first. I got to wear my green-with-white-polkadots dress with my pearls, which always makes me happy. And then we got to see Ro in her gold sari and Will in his I-don't-know-the-name-of-that-garment, and they both looked great. There were some speeches and some songs, and the couple were given gifts and draped with flowers. We ate a lot of tasty food and got to see Ro's sari for the reception in its special box, as well as an example of the saris that the bridesmaids will be wearing.
It was all pretty neat, but it was also Father's Day, so we only stayed at the party for a couple of hours. We made our way back to the parents' house, where there was golf on the TV, some Wii gaming, beers, and spaghetti & meatballs as made by Erica. I think that dad found it all acceptable.
So happy engagement (again) to Rohini and Will, happy Father's Day to dads, and happy Monday to the rest of us fools.
