Four of my mom's sisters came into town yesterday. They (and my mom) hopped on the Metro in the evening to meet up with another sister and spend the next few days in DC. They'll be coming back on Sunday morning, and figuring out how to shuttle everyone from the Greenbelt Metro station to home or airport, as needed, is turning into a crazy logic puzzle.
Sisters A, B, C, D, and E will be at the Metro between 10:15 and 10:30 am Sunday. Each has a bag with her. Sister A lives locally, Sisters B, C, D, and E need to be transported to the airport. If Husband F drives to the Metro to pick them up, one person and one bag will not fit in the car. Daughter G lives near the airport and will be going to brunch near the Metro at 11:00 am. If she drives a second car to the Metro, everyone will fit in a car, but G will be late for brunch, and will have to do a lot of driving. Also, G's car is uncomfortable for adults to get in and out of the back seat . . .
And so on. Right now, I am thinking that I should have Sharif drive me to my parent's house that morning. I can then get the keys to Mom's car, and the three of us (Me, Dad, Sharif) can each drive separately to the station. Then I pass Mom's car on to her, she and Dad split the sisters between them, and I get in Sharif's car and we head on to brunch. Whew. So complicated.
