I like it when the people who send me paperwork attach a sticky note to the front just to say "Thank you for taking care of this, Joanna." That's a pleasant way to receive an assignment.
It was a good weekend that just passed. A lazy Friday night in which we turned down an invitation to an impromptu get-together (over an hour away) in favor of chinese food in front of the TV. I think it was the right decision.
Saturday was a beautiful day, and we decided to take a jaunt down to Annapolis. We didn't realize that there was a boat show going on all weekend, which made it difficult to park and impossible to get to the waterside without paying admission. But we did find a space in a garage without too much difficulty, and we had a fantastic lunch at a lovely place that seated us well before their waiting estimate of 30 to 45 minutes. (I had a half pound of steamed shrimp. The boy had fancy clams. We each had a Harvest Moon beer.) Afterwards, we got some ice cream and we wandered around downtown. We ultimately did not go into the boat show- though we wanted to see it, it was not $32 worth of want.
The rest of the weekend was spent at my house. Sharif spent a lot of time on the Wii, playing his new game. In a ridiculously rare occurance, I made three meals in a row! Pork tenderloin (with salad and bread) for Saturday dinner. French toast for brunch on Sunday. (Sharif took care of the bacon.) Leftover pork and salad, plus garlic bread, for Sunday dinner. All, I must say, turned out very well. We really ought to do this whole "have food in the house" thing more often.
