Hey! Yesterday was a really good day! We had our company "picnic" yesterday, at Obrycki's in Baltimore. It didn't start until 10:00, and I didn't have to go into the office beforehand, so I got to stay in bed for an extra hour and still take my time getting ready. Play clothes, a visit with the puppy, then off to the city.

I wasn't really looking forward to the party itself, as I'm not particularly interested in socializing with most of my coworkers outside of the office, but it turned out to be a really nice time. The food was plentiful- it was a crab feast, but there was plenty of really awesome shrimp for the weird few of us who don't eat crabs. I ate many shrimp. So many. There were a couple of games, but they were actually fun and funny, rather than awkward and annoying as they so easily could have been. Thank goodness. In fact, my team even won the song-related game, which means that I came home with a prize- a monstrously huge beach towel. And I ended up having good conversations with a few people I don't have much contact with. All in all, it was a much better event than I anticipated.

I left the restaraunt around 2:00, and just went straight home. Beautiful. I spent some time with Sharif, had a nap, went out for Sushi with Lacey once I'd had plenty of time to get hungry again. (I love vegetarian sushi, for the curious who know my attitude toward fish.) We were given an order of mushroom sushi in error, which neither of us wanted, so I claimed that for my boyfriend, and took it to him after dinner. I hung out at his place for awhile, as there was a rob/Sharif music practice session planned, and a private concert is always awesome.

Basically, best Thursday I've had in a while. Today I'm back at work, but I know that it's Friday. I have plenty to do to keep me busy and make the day go faster, and it's looking to be a nice weekend. Happy Joanna.

You won't eat crabs, but you like shrimp. And shrimp are good and all, but they pale in comparison with crabs. I have known this about you, but it's still odd.

Let's go to the beach! I do not have a beach towel, but that can be remedied. I do have a beah umbrella.

It brings joy to the people sitting near me at crab feasts, though, because they can have all of mine.

And that sounds like an excellent plan. Beach!
