Celebrationing

I am now 27 years and 2 days old. I want to thank everyone who took part in my birthday joy- whether it be via livejournal comment, email, instant message, phone call, card, gift, and/or coming to open mic on tuesday. I had a fantastic day. I really think that hijacking an already-established weekly get-together is a great way to guarantee a fun birthday party time. I was overwhelmed with generosity (cake! toys! books! personalized art projects!), I was surrounded by friends, and I had way too much to drink (and paid for very little of that myself).

So yes, thank you to all. I scheduled a day off for yesterday, because I planned to need the recovery time. That was incredibly wise. I was in my pajamas until well into the afternoon, and was feeling pretty awful. But I knew that I brought it on myself. I did manage to get out for a bit in the afternoon- I bought a couple of pairs of jeans at the mall and I picked up my birthday present from my parents. A quiet evening followed, with a Pho dinner with Sharif, and Project Runway with Erica.

Early tomorrow morning the family and I get on a plane to Texas. Family reunion time! I'll be out of town from Friday through Tuesday, and I'm not sure whether I'll have much if any internet access in that time. Fair warning.
