Candy Cane Tootsie Pops are surprising. In an addicting sort of sugar way. It's white and red striped peppermint on a stick . . . with a Tootsie Roll in the center. A little bit of Christmas has carried over to the new year. If you like that sort of thing. Turns out that I do.
Open Mic at Perk last night was characterized by two-player Mario Kart and by presents from ragnartheviking. This is always exciting. My box started with a lovely book that I am really looking forward to reading- about Alice in Wonderland and different interpretations and takeoffs of it. Also two very silly t-shirts (one saying "The Second Amendment" and featuring a guy with large fuzzy bear arms, and the other featuring a bright orange hippo and the words "Actually, I was never really that hungry, hungry."). Finally, there was a necklace that is also a small level. It is very great, and makes me wish that I worked in carpentry. I shall just have to hang some pictures, so that I may feel deserving of the level necklace. Ann is so thoughtful and good with gifting, it makes me feel inadequate. But in a loved way!
In 40 more minutes, this 4-day work week will be half over. Not that I'm counting.
