psychephage and I were in Fells Point last night, hanging out with one of the boy's classmates. In the bar in which we ended up, there was a cat. And not just any cat. Oh no, this was The Fattest Cat. It was awesome. I picked up the giant grey lump of kitty at one point, and he couldn't entirely fit on my lap. There was so much fat there, you could barely tell he was purring. (But he was.) What a good cat for snuggles. I really wanted to take a picture, but I didn't have my real camera, and my phone just wasn't up to handling the lighting conditions.
It was a good night. Sharif made dinner, which turned out phenomenally well. Then we went into Baltimore to hang out with Juan, who's a really good guy. We all had fun. Of course, I had a little more beer than I ought, and stayed out rather later than I ought, so I'm not at the top of my game today. I could have used several more hours in bed.
My boss approached me yesterday with the question "Are you ever going to take some time off?" Heh. Apparently, I need to use some vacation, or I'm going to stop accruing and miss out. So, sometime this month (Hello, December!), there shall be Joanna relaxation. I just need to decide what to do. This is an awesome kind of problem to have. I know that I want to go to Vegas, and I want to go to Iceland, but both of those are trips that I will want to plan more than two weeks in advance, so I'm thinking something more local and cost-effective in the short term.
That is not the recent development to which I was referring a few days ago. On that I remain mysterious, but just because I'm lazy.
