I have had that rarest of events, a quiet weekend. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I had no concrete plans as friday evening approached. Interestingly enough, I'm actually feeling rested today. I wonder if these two circumstances are related . . . quiet, relaxing weekend to rested Monday morning? It just might work.

So yeah, Friday after work I went home and worked out the final mix for the frankenstein project and did not much else. Lacey and I watched some Monty Python. Sharif came by late and brought ice cream with him, and we started watching the old BBC version of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Rainy Saturday was mostly spent on the couch. More Monty Python. Two episodes of Lost. In the afternoon, Lacey, Madhu, Sharif, and I went out to see Wallace & Gromit in Curse of the Were-Rabbit, which was quite fun. Followed that up with a mexican dinner, and it was a satisfying outing. Back at the house . . . the boy and I watched more Monty Python. It was that kind of a day.

Sunday I went shopping with Erica and spent more money than I should have, I'm sure. But I found many things that I needed, including shoes for this weekend and shoes that will be made suitable for Halloween. I think that Joanna's Law of Shoe-Buying has been determined to be: "If Joanna has unsuccessfully looked in at least 5 stores for a pair of shoes, she will find something suitable and on sale at Lord & Taylor". For some reason, it doesn't work if I go to Lord & Taylor first. This is unfair. After shopping, Erica and I went to the parents' house, where Sharif and the Tim joined us and we all shared in Apples to Apples, apple martinis, and mommy-made macaroni and cheese. Some people also enjoyed some broccoli, but we don't talk about that very much.
