Despite trains (extremely crowded with protesters) and keys (locked in my car), I have had a successful day.
phew. i was actually still worried about the lack of keys on joanna's part. glad they turned up! (locked in your car = better than lost somewhere unknown on the washington mall. by a longshot.)

Damn it all. Was that on the Mall? We saw those tents on our way to the protest, and I was like "Ooh! Ooh! That's where all my friends and Neil Gaiman are!" but Cara was like, "No, I think they were talking about the Small Press Expo in Bethesda, this is just some other weird events with tents and books." I knew I should have called you to be sure. Alas. Now I will never kick it with Neil Gaiman. Alack.
It was totally on the Mall! You missed out. He only spoke for about a half hour, but was as charming and entertaining as I knew he would be. And then I got three books signed!
Good times, aside from the vomity girl on the sardine-packed Metro train, and the locking of my keys in the car.
also: whoever took that picture did an excellent job framing the shot and what not...
