Today has been a slow and quiet day at work. Yesterday was a slow and quiet day at work. Tomorrow will probably be a slow and quiet day at work. Thursday, however, I get to go to Annapolis instead of the office and spend a day working with Habitat for Humanity on company time. I'm looking forward to it immensely, and I'm very happy that I work for an organization that allows us to do things like this.
The Tim pointed out to me that it has been nearly a year since I arrived home from New Zealand. The anniversary is in less than a month, in fact. Incredible. So much has happened since then, but it still doesn't seem like it could have been that long ago. I was only gone for a year, so in another month, I will have been home for longer than I was away. A year ago today, in fact, I was in Australia- on day two of my overnight excursion into the Blue Mountains, to be exact. That was a good day- memorable for being the day I came face to face with a koala. As well, of course, as seeing some amazing scenery. And that night, after returning to Sydney, I had a local to take me to see the city lights from just the right spot.
Yeah, I'd like to go back there. I can see that when I do actually have enough money to travel again, I will have difficulty deciding where to go, because there are places that I have seen but feel I did not allow enough time to experience properly, and there are many many more places that I've never visited at all. But that, somehow, is a difficult decision that I'm ready and willing to face. Just give me the opportunity to handle that problem. I dare you!
Aw, I just got an extremely pleasing in-and-out AIM message. Yay for boy.
