Back at work after a busy busy weekend, I'm having trouble concentrating, because I can think of many things that I'd rather be doing that do not involve sitting at this desk. Sleeping, surprisingly, is not as high on the list as it would usually be on a Monday morning. I guess that's a blessing, anyway.
Friday after work, I met up with my mommy, afterknowledge, ragnartheviking, mightcould and wowbagger for dinner at Pizzeria Uno, intending to catch the 8:00 showing of Charlie & the Chocolate Factory after eating. That show was sold out, however, so some wandering of the mall and some bunny admiration and some caffeination were in order while we waited for the 10:00 screening. Will joined us during the bunny section of the evening. The movie, once we finally saw it, was great. I enjoyed it immensely, and found it delightfully odd. Also, there was a preview for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, one for Corpse Bride, and one for the Wallace and Gromit movie, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Awesome.
Saturday morning I went to pick up my copy of Harry Potter around 9am, and started reading soon after. I read straight through, with breaks only to grab food from the kitchen, visit the bathroom, and occasionally move a load of laundry from the washing machine to the dryer. I finished the book around 4:30pm. After a brief recovery period, I managed to do the showering, dressing, and alcohol buying things required to prepare for butnotdavid's apartment-warming. I headed over there in the evening, and was the first one there, meaning that Dave and I were able to discuss our Harry Potter thoughts unimpeded by those who had not yet finished the book. Once Erica arrived, however, the topic was forced to change. The get-together itself was good fun, with pizza and cider and friends and tiny rubber chickens and games of Yahtzee and Trivial Pursuit. I didn't win the TP, but I did get my yellow pie piece, which means that I'm not a total failure as a history major, and so I was sufficiently content with the game. Home late that night.
I mean it, it was late. And I turned off my alarm clock before getting into bed, which explains the fact that when I looked at the clock upon waking later that day, it was already 1:30 in the afternoon. A mere three hours before I was scheduled to meet the parents and the sister and the Tim for dinner. Dinner at Mandalay was successfully obtained, although it was technically breakfast for a couple of us. Vegetarian entree #14 with cilantro, medium spicy, you are tasty indeed. That evening, Erica and I went to Tim's place for Yahtzee and kitty and Iron Chef, Battle Hamburger. Stewie looooooves me. Sometimes. Good kitty.
psychephage and I had totally contrasting schedules this weekend. Maybe I'll see him after work. That would be nice. I hope you feel better, boy!
