I kept pretty busy over this particular weekend. Saturday was spent with psychephage. Brunch at IHOP, followed by a jaunt to the Sheep & Wool Festival at the Howard County fairgrounds. We saw (and patted) many many sheep. We watched a sheepdog demonstration. We ate ice cream. And we waded through many many people. The weather was beautiful, and lots of folks were taking advantage of that. Later, we walked for a bit- to the swinging bridge in Patapsco State Park. Then dinner at Rocky Run. My sweet potato fries were actually sweet- with sugar sprinkled on instead of salt, and served with an almost icing-y sort of dipping concoction. Tasty, but not what I was expecting. I think, though, that I may have left my sunglasses at the restaraunt. Bummer.
Yesterday was Mother's Day, and we celebrated accordingly. I made my famous chicken enchiladas- a lengthy process, but well worth it. wowbagger made a rhubarb pie. Our mom deserves good things, and we express our appreciation with food. All in all, aside from the cooking, it was a fairly laid-back sort of day. Relaxing and family-y. As Mother's Day ought to be, I suppose.
It looks like today is another lovely day outside. All I can do about that, however, is stare longingly out the window.
