I've moved. Largely in thanks to my parents, my sister, The Tim, and Sharif, all of whom braved the wet to carry my things around. And another extra-special thankyou is due to my father, who also drove the truck for me. I bought them all pizza, but that hardly seems like enough, as they surely deserve at least my everlasting devotion.
After the lifting part of the move was done on Saturday afternoon, most of the rest of the weekend was spent unpacking boxes and arranging my things around the room. Saturday night I did get to Sarah's housewarming party, which was a fine time, despite the exhaustion I could feel deep in my bones by the time I got there. There was Sarah and friends and chips and guacamole and alcohol and two lovely lovely kitties. Also, Will earned a spot on the list of people who deserve my gratitude for this weekend- by driving to and from DC, thus allowing me to avoid just that.
I really really like my new place. My room is both bigger than my old one and extremely cozy. It's warm and has more closet space than I can currently use. There's a big patch of floor in the middle that's just calling for a chair and a coffee table- which means that a trip to Ikea is in order for Joanna- quite possibly tomorrow.
Watch out, MasterCard, you've got some fun in store.
Busy day at work today. Still plenty to do. Back to it.
