Today was our company's Baltimore-area awards banquets. It was held here. The awards were all for real estate agents affiliated with the company, but employees from the corporate office were invited to attend anyway. This included me. In fact, they even hired a temp to sit at my desk for the duration of the event, so that I could go. The food was plentiful and free, so of course I was there. The awards themselves were not very interesting, as I didn't know any of the winners, but I was sitting with other people from my office and I wasn't answering the phone, so I was happy. I have come back here for slightly less than two hours until the end of the workday. Not a bad deal, all in all.

Because I was going to that, I was unable to accept an invitation for Mexican food for lunch, but that can be remedied another day.

---

Another fish was dead when I got home from work yesterday. And this morning, another. I don't know what's going on. It's getting to the point that I'm scared to look in the tank.

---

Rohini called me yesterday as I was watching Good Eats to tell me that she had rediscovered the joy of Alton Brown. Apparently she just had to tell someone, and figured that I would understand. We then proceeded to talk about the show through the rest of the show. We are both big dorks.

1. i had one of those seemingly rqandom fish kills once. i decided that i had a serial killer in my tank. of course, that was highly implausible. oddly, it was some of the same type of fish you had die (and actully, the fish i bought last august, two of them met the same odd unexplainable fate). maybe it's the PH? i know not from fish killing (which is why i love bettas. durable little fishies.)

2.happening into award banquets and such, where food is free and plentiful, is always fun.

3. alton brown = awesome. but i guess you already know this.

(yeah. umm. dorks... don't know anything about them...)

Listen, missy! I can type how I want. Hmph.

You (and I) are (am) lucky that I'm usually averse to that kind of typing. One time, when Motherbrain! was leaked to a video game geek website, someone said that we "pwned," and it took me a LOT of searching to find out what that meant.

Then I learned it meant "owned." Then I learned that was a compliment.

He is a geek with a cooking show. I <3 him as well. I think I watch way too many shows on the food network... and I don't cook, so I'm definitely more of a dork than Rohini akka or Joanna.
