I woke up at 9:00 this morning and immediately felt guilty about not yet having fed the fish, as they usually get their food around 7:00am. Guilty enough, in fact, that I had to get out of bed immediately to take care of it. Then, rather than go back to sleep, I turned on the TV and discovered that Breakfast at Tiffany's was on. I cried at the end. And that's been my morning so far.
Last night was butnotdavid's birthday dinner at DuClaw Brewing Co. The crab dip was good. The names of the microbrews were good (great even). The Bad Moon porter was good. My turkey melt on a pretzel roll was good. The desserts looked good, but I had no room left in me for any of that.
My gift to the birthday boy was a custom-designed Yahtzee set. Ok, a custom-designed box with Yahtzee materials inside. What was the design, you ask? It was a special Full House edition of the game. It was definitely the geekiest thing I've ever made. I think it was well received. After dinner, we went to Dave's place, where we played a long and frustrating (but fun) game of Book Lovers' Trivial Pursuit. Even in teams, it took forever. I love books, you know, but apparently not enough to do well at this game. Will and I would have won, however, if we'd been asked the Bobby Flay question. Alas, the fates were not with us.
Cleaning today. Not much else.
