an obscure finch emporium . . . next to a Morman Temple

This past week, six little green-plastic-potted primroses appeared on my desk at various times, mostly when I wasn't looking. I believe they were left for me because people knew that I would be likely to water them, whereas they would die of neglect in the other spots they had been placed. So I took the little plantlings into my care. However, because they were all still in the little pots in which they were sold, I figured they would not last the long weekend without help, so I brought them all home with me, and today I went in search of some real pots for them. Instead of flower pots, I ended up buying several little rice bowls from Linens 'n Things. I transferred them over to the bowls this afternoon, and I think they look very nice. Tuesday I can take them back to the office and put them on my desk, and I will be surrounded by flowers while I work.

I can't take them in tomorrow because I don't have to work tomorrow! Instead, I am going to Philadelphia with Rohini, and we are going to see Christina and then Tom McRae. We will come home very late that night and be extremely tired at work the next morning. I'm looking forward to it immensely.

I have won no games in the last two days. And not from lack of playing. Possibly from lack of trying hard enough- or in the case of Trivial Pursuit, the lack of useful context clues. At least, that's my excuse.
