goth babysitter?

must leave work at work

I woke up at 5:15 this morning (a good 1.5 hours before my alarm). I was fully awake and I was worried. Never fun. So I stayed in bed, thinking about this work issue that I would have to deal with today. I tried to convince myself to get up and read or play Wii tennis or something, but instead stayed in bed and worried. I eventually worried myself back to sleep, to the point that I ended up getting out of bed only 15 minutes before I had to leave. Now that's a stupid system.

So now I'm at the office, I've taken care of the thing that was worrying me, and it's out of my hands. It's not finished yet, but everything that I can do has been done, and I think that everything will work out fine. I need to remember not to think about work when I'm not at work. It just ruins otherwise pleasant activities. (Like remaining perfectly still in my comfortable bed.)

Yesterday evening was a lovely one. Lacey was home when I got to the house, and Sharif came by shortly after. We grilled the rest of the italian sausage from the cookout, as well as some leftover corn and zucchini. We also enjoyed the contents of that six-pack of "Mojito" malt beverage that was in the fridge. I discovered that it claims to contain "the natural flavor of Mojito". Whatever that means. It was pretty tasty, considering.

We played Wii bowling, and later drafted Ben into an outing to the soft serve place. So yeah, nice Monday night. I'm looking forward to the Might Could set at open mic tonight. Guitars!
work

office woe

Apparently I fail at toner. The copier was working fine before I changed the cartridge, aside from the fact that all the pages were coming out pale. So I took out the almost-empty cartridge and put in a new one, exactly as the old one was situated, as far as I can tell. But now when I try for multiple copies, I get two or three very nicely printed pages followed by a long delay, in which the screen on the copier says "Please Wait" and the machine sits and goes wwwwwwwhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. After a few minutes, we get silence and an error message. Sigh. And I was going to spend a good quiet hour in the copy room this afternoon, constructing new hire folders out of reach of my phone and email.
