Today I

- woke up slightly before my alarm clock went off at 8:30.
- had a homemade Egg McMuffin for breakfast.
- paid bills.
- watched On Borrowed Time, starring Lionel Barrymore, with Bobs Watson as "Pud", and featuring the classic line "Aunt Demetria is a pismire" many times over, often sung.
- ate leftover pizza for lunch.
- took a walk at the snowiest part of the day.
- watched the season premiere of Monk, "Mr. Monk and the Red Herring".
- read the first few chapters of Jonathon Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke.
- took a totally unnecessary nap.
- watched part of a makeover show that made me angry.
- ate homemade chicken soup and homemade bread for dinner.
- watched Seven Chances, starring Buster Keaton.
- baked Toll House chocolate chip cookie bars.
- updated my livejournal.

How are you liking Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell so far? It's really good, but I kept thinking that Strange and Norrell should GET IT ON.

Um.

Yay Monk!

Well, I'm only about three chapters in at the moment, so I couldn't really comment on any possibilities of GETTING IT ON, but I can tell already that it's a book I'm going to like a lot.

Um.

Yay Monk!

Heh. No, really, it's a great book, I love it dearly (and would be reading it again, but I would like to read another book in my lifetime). Perhaps I just read too deeply into things. Or perhaps I just think all literary characters should get it on with their, um, titular counterpart. Whatever.

How did you like Seven Chances? I've not seen it, but it's on my Netflix queue.

I liked it much. It's not long (less than an hour), and it's fun. The chase sequence in particular gets really absurd and funny.

Of course, there are teeny parts where you're reminded just what used to be considered funny but now makes you make a little squirmyface. But on the whole it's quite enjoyable.
