Well, after spending a year exclusively with my New Balance trainers and my Tevas, walking around the mall in my cute heeled boots was an interesting experience. But I'd say I came through like a pro. And I did eventually find some interview shoes. I don't love them, but they are what I need and relatively comfortable, so I can't complain.

In other news, my hamster is crazy. I was playing with him just now and put him on my desk. It's a pretty big desk with a lot of stuff on it, so I figured he would enjoy exploring the nooks and crannies. Instead, he jumped off the desk. One second Pi's sniffing around on my keyboard, and the next second there's a "whump" and he's on the floor. Now, if I were to fall from a precipice a few hundred times taller than my own height, I would be dead. We're talkin' flat Joanna. Pi, on the other hand, just kept on exploring. So- crazy, but apparently quite resilient.

That? Is hilarious. I love the Pi.

Your hamster is very lucky. They usually do die when they jump off of tables. Apparently they do that a lot. Multiple friends have lost their hamsters to this.

Do care for him. I think their lack of understanding of tables comes from the fact that they live in burrows in the wild.

Those shoes are super cute, for interview shoes. Lovely.

I so want a hamster, but I'm be all disappointed he wasn't cool like Pi. Hmph.

Many, many, many years ago when I had a hamster, I was holding him while standing in front of his big ol' fish-tank-turned-hamster-apartment-complex. I was in elementary school back then, but the height of my hands was surely higher than a standard desktop. The hamster bit my finger, so I dropped him. He landed on his feet, and with a look of "This is my chance! Free at last!", he took off running through my parents bedroom (where the apartment complex was). he was caught & placed back in his home. But, of course, the point is that he not only survived the fall, he sprinted like a hamster Carl Lewis 2 seconds after hitting the ground! I guess these two particular hamsters of ours were tougher than most. :)
