Yesterday I booked an Elm Wildlife Tour to the Otago Penninsula for this afternoon. I was told to be waiting outside the hostel at 12:45. So this afternoon, at 12:40, I was outside sitting on the front step. Oscar, the hostel cat, who is in appearance a fat version of Outside Midnight, and who is in personality probably one of the top three Friendliest Cats in the World (the other two being Outside Midnight and Mallet), joined me and sat on my lap. At 1:30, I was still on the step, Oscar was still on my lap, and there was still no bus.
Turns out the person who took my booking put me down for the wrong day and the tour left without me. Luckily, I had nothing planned for tomorrow and can try again. Frustrating, though.
I ended up spending much of the afternoon at the Dunedin Art Gallery. It was a pleasant way to spend the day, if not what I had intended. I wanted to show you a picture of the NZ$200 set of pasta bowls with fantasy fish painted on them, but there's no page for them on the website. I want those bowls though. Anyone want to gift me $200 plus the neccesary cash to post them to Maryland?
. . . yeah, didn't think so.
