And spending money, of course, there's always that.
But mostly Excitement! Adventure! And Really Wild Things!
Tomorrow I am getting on the TranzAlpine train into the Southern Alps. I'll be getting off in the teensy village of Arthur's Pass and stopping there for a couple of nights, then getting back on the train for the rest of the journey to the West Coast. I'm stupid excited about this. It's supposed to be one of the finest train journeys in the world. I just hope the weather is nice.
After I get off the train on Tuesday, I'll be catching a bus down to Hokitika, where I'm hoping to do the ubertouristy carve-your-own-greenstone-pendant day workshop. I tried to call the place this afternoon to book, but there was no answer, so I shall have to try again.
Then! Then, I will get a bus to the Franz Josef glacier! And I will walk on that glacier! Yes I will!
Add to all of this the fact that I have booked my (far far too short) trip to Australia in September, and you can understand why I'm feeling pretty good. Whoop!
