I feel like dancing
In the rain
Can I have a volunteer?
Just keep right on dancing.
What a damn jolly good idea.

It's a rainy day in Mot'. Which is nice when you're sitting inside on the couch under a duvet, but far less pleasant when you have to ride
on your bike
to work.

BUT! This afternoon, something broke and they sent us home early! AND! One of the girls stuck my bike in the back of her car and gave me a ride home!

And I went to the New World and bought some Vanilla Chai teabags. And I went to the bookstore and bought a new cheesy spy novel. And soon I am going to take a hot hot shower, change into comfy clothes, and sit on the couch under the duvet and enjoy my two new purchases while listening to the CD I bought this weekend. And then tonight is TV night, which means The Simpsons and Friends and Scrubs and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy all in a row. I just need to convince myself not to go to the fish and chips shop, because then I just might bust with the contentment. (And no, I would not be getting fish at the shop. The chicken patty is good, as are the corn patty and the pineapple ring, so my choices are multiple.) Ah, I just remembered, our preferred fish and chips shop is closed Monday and Tuesday, so I'm safe there.

This afternoon there was a big blue Flying Kiwi bus parked on High Street. And I thought to myself "I wonder if I know the driver of that bus." And then down the street come Markus and Sushi from the trip I took months ago. Cool. I talked to them for a time, and that was nice. They're one day from their last trip of the season, and are leaving the country next week, so this was my absolute last chance to run into them. Worked out perfectly.

I want a Mr. Knightly icon. And an apple. And a Quo Vadimus? one. And some other things that I've forgotten. Damn.

I can hook you up. Do... you want to eat an apple, or is the apple one of your icon requests? Should Mr. Knightly be saying anything? And what sort of Quo Vadimus? icon? I have a few ideas. Should I just wing it?

The apple is an icon request. I'm eating fewer and fewer apples as I pack more and more of them. But I think that it would be an appropriate "Motueka entry" illustration.

I can't think of anything for Mr. Knightly to say at the moment, but if you have something in mind . . .

Really, I think I'll leave it all up to you. Be creative!

This Quo Vadimus? icon is going to be a right booger to pull off. I'll do the best I can.

I have an idea.

It's a bad one.

But it's an idea.

I do!

Well, some.

I saw Salmonella Dub at a club in Nelson with my friends from Mot'. It was great fun. I danced like a crazy person. There were lots of people there. And I'm having Kathleen introduce me to New Zealand music, so that I can have things that no one else has heard of ha ha ha in my collection when I come home. This is fun.

The second and latest times we went to see Tom McRae, we also saw Greg Johnson, who is from New Zealand and brought a Kiwi posse with him to the Hotel Cafe.

Everyone in the band kept making weird Southern Hemisphere jokes, actually the same joke. One of them asked Greg if Little Feat (Feet?) was his favorite band, and he answered by saying it was Midnight Oil. Then, for about 5 minutes, the band continued to yell out the names of musical artists from Australia and New Zealand. It was a little bit odd.
