Dwarfs are very upsetting

Last night Kathleen and I accidentally watched the movie Resident Evil. By "accidentally", I mean that after accidentally watching the first episode of CSI: Miami (featuring Ainsley Hayes! And Rory Cochrane!), which we watched because it came on after The Simpsons, I changed the channel to avoid getting sucked into whatever was coming on that channel next. Instead, we landed on this movie that had just started and which we couldn't identify. And never turned it off. It was late enough and dark enough and we were being girly enough that we managed to get pretty freaked out by parts of it (Kathleen definitely more so than me), but I am not proud of it. I intend to make up for this bit of movie watching by going to see either Casablanca or The Maltese Falcon (or both!) at The Gecko tomorrow. Way cool.

Today we were both bad and skipped work. I was better, in that I asked yesterday if I could have the day off. The thought of a two day weekend just got to be overwhelming, and I decided it was worth the slightly smaller paycheck. Kathleen just woke up this morning and decided not to go. We had a lazy morning, then went into Nelson, where we went to the Saturday market, got gelato, and browsed some funky stores. Caught the bus back to town, and I now have to clean all of the dishes from yesterday. Soon I will be doing so. Honest.
