I was downstairs just now making myself a cup of hot tea with honey. I said to myself, "Yum. Dried leaves soaked in boiling water. With bee vomit!" And my mom and my grandma both reacted with disgust. I thought it was funny, but they both claim that they will never eat honey again.
Today is a day for party preparations and packing. Mostly the latter for me, because time is running out and I've still got plenty of it left to do. I hope that lots of people come to my party tomorrow. We're going to have vast amounts of food, so I hope that lots of people come, and that they come hungry. Fiesta!
And I think that my cold is fading. I think. Please?
Hee! I eat honey every day and I
think it's funny. Of course, if I go to put honey in my tea tonight, think "Ick, bee vomit!" and can't bring myself to drink it, I'm blaming you whole-heartedly.
Have a fun party with loads of famished guests!
*giggles* I thought I was the only one who called it bee vomit. :)
*huggles* to you, and I hope your cold does go away. And that your party rocks socks. :)
forgive me for asking so late in the game, but what exactly are you going away *for*?
Well, I'm not really sure that you could say that I'm going away for
anything. Except for my own personal happiness. I've signed up with a program (BUNAC
) that was able to get the 12-month "Working Holidaymakers Visa" for me to use in New Zealand. I signed up because I love to travel, I've long wanted the opportunity to live in another country, and now is a good time for me to be doing this as I'm still young and I don't have a career or a husband or children or a mortgage keeping me here. Really, I'm doing it for the experience.
Plus, it'll be a great story for me to tell people later when I do have the career and the husband and the children and the mortgage!
but what will you be DOING?
Ah, see, that's up in the air yet. I'll be living in New Zealand for a year. I don't yet have a place to live, although I do have two nights free accomodation in a hostel (after which I'll have to pay.) I don't have a job yet, although I do have the visa which allows me to take temporary employment while I'm there. So, essentially, I'm going to go, look for a place to live, look for a job, and see as much of the country as I can in 12 months.
So you can see why I'm getting more and more nervous as the time draws nearer.

If you fall on your head (and not your feet) with nowhere to stay in Aucks, you're welcome to crash on me and my sis's foldout couch. It's pretty comfy and close'ish to town.
Wow, thanks very much! It's nice to know that someone's offering me an option like that, even if it turns out I don't need it. Very cool.

Two words: Tomb Raider
Two better words: Indiana Joanna
A year in New Zealand would be a fine timee to be a fedora and shorts wearing adventurer with a whip and/or two handguns.
you know, in case you hadn't considered it already.
it sounds so exciting though! and adventurous! you'd better find yourself a good hat before you go. you don't want to be caught without a good exploring hat.
