My mom just sent those to me today. Craziness.
I had a cavity filled today. One of the unusual effects of the Novocaine was to make it that I couldn't open my mouth as wide as normal. That made it very awkward for the drilling. I honestly don't know if that's a normal reaction, because this is only the second filling I've had to have, so I don't have a regular relationship with Novocaine. I'll tell you, I don't mind avoiding the whole cavity experience. The less often I have to breath in fumes from the drilling away of my own teeth, the happier I am. And the whole numb-mouth-for-several-hours-afterward thing isn't much fun either. Eh. Glad I got it over with.
But this evening I made chicken enchiladas! That's good eating, if I do say so myself. (And I do. Oh, I do.) And tonight was the season premiere of The West Wing. I can't tell yet how it's going to fare without Aaron Sorkin. This was a tricky episode to judge because of the subject matter. I can tell that there will be differences, but I can't tell yet if they are going to bother me. Not that I'll be around to watch past the second episode of the season, anyway. So my opinion wouldn't so much matter, even if I had developed one.
Tomorrow I go to my mom's office and sign some papers giving her power of attorney while I'm out of the country. The countdown is beginning in earnest. In less than two weeks, I'll be in California. In less than three weeks, I'll be on the other side of the world. And there's still so much to do! At what point do I begin to panic?
